O motorista da carreta responsável pelo acidente que resultou em 39 mortes na BR-116, em dezembro passado, foi identificado como Arilton Bastos Alves e estava sob efeito de cocaína, ecstasy e outras substâncias, segundo laudo toxicológico realizado dois dias após o ocorrido.
Arilton foi preso na manhã desta terça-feira (21), no Espírito Santo. De acordo com a decisão judicial que decretou a prisão preventiva, o exame toxicológico apontou ainda a presença de MDA, alprazolam e venlafaxina em seu organismo. Peritos concluíram que ele havia consumido cocaína e álcool etílico simultaneamente.
A decisão judicial destacou que há indícios de que o motorista tinha o hábito de dirigir sob influência de álcool. Em julho de 2022, ele foi flagrado por policiais apresentando sinais de embriaguez ao volante, o que resultou na suspensão de sua carteira de habilitação.
“Diante dessas informações, não se trata de simples descuido ou negligência, mas de uma deliberada assunção de risco, agravada pelo uso de múltiplas substâncias psicoativas”, afirmou o juiz Danilo de Mello Ferraz em sua decisão.
